Vintage Vogue Occasions Mini Preview

I am so sorry if you all feel a little neglected! School ended and it was just a mad dash for me to get ready for Christmas. With all the hustle and bustle, my body decided it had enough and I got sick. I've been sick since before Christmas and I am still fighting it. I hope I get better soon.

I am headed off with my husband for a few days, but I wanted to give you another sneak peek at some of the new products available January 5th in the Occasions Mini Catalog. This new catalog has so many fun new products, but I knew I had to have this Vintage Vogue stamp set when I saw it. The new Sweet Pea paper is fantastic too!

I hope you have a wonderful New Year! Can you believe it is almost 2010?

Jingle All The Way

I know it has been a little while since you've seen me! It's such a busy time around here. I had finals on Monday and now I am working hard to catch up on laundry and get all of my Christmas shopping, wrapping, baking and crafting done before the deadline! Whew! I am exhausted.

Your gonna love this project? Do you want to know why? It uses some of the new products that will be available in January in the Occasions Mini Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration promotion. I can't wait for you to see all of the wonderful new stuff that Stampin Up has!

Be sure to check back. I will be putting up another video soon with another preview!

Fancy Favor Teacher Gift

These are going to make the most adorable little gifts for Christmas! I am planning on making about 14 of these. Some will be gifts for teachers, some will be just little gifts to keep around in a pinch!

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment! I am so honored that you watch my videos! Have a wonderful day.

I decided to make a separate video showing just the assembly of the Fancy Favor box.

Yuletide Christmas

I have had an amazingly productive week. I haven't gotten much crafting done, but I have gotten a lot of other things done. My house is clean and decorated for Christmas. I wish it could look like this all the time. I have a feeling that when I return to school next week, the whirlwind will hit and it will quickly look disheveled. It has been a good week. I really needed the break from school to catch my breath and tend to mommy things...which are never done. I did actually say out loud this week that I really miss my stay at home mommy days. The good news is that I only have a couple weeks left in this semester and I will be done with the first semester of the nursing program. Three more to go.

Today we are off to my in-laws for another Thanksgiving feast. I tried to call it dinner the other day and Elliot, my five year old daughter, informed me that, "It is called a FEAST!"

Here is the next of my soldier cards. I used the Yuletide Christmas stamp set to create this card. I hope you enjoy your day!

Tree Trimmings Kicked Up

I will apologize in advance for the choppiness of this video.

I took the second of the cards I made for the soldiers and kicked it up. I love the way it turned out! The length of the video is very deceiving. If I had to do it again, I know I could whip this one out in less than ten minutes.

Is it me, or do my hands look swollen? I need to drink more water and less coffee.

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

The Noel card from my last video was by far the most popular card of all the soldiers cards, so I decided to kick it up a notch and share it with all of you. I am really pleased with the "kicked up" version.

I hope you enjoy the video and I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Cards for Soldiers

On Friday, I decided to help my friend with a project. She is head of an operation called Creating A Cozy Christmas. Her and her students are making blankets and handmade cards for soldiers in Afghanistan for Christmas. Here it is, Sunday night, and I'm already done! Wow! 40 cards for soldiers who will be away from home for Christmas. I really enjoyed doing this. I appreciate our soldiers and their sacrifice. I hope they have a very Merry Christmas and know that they are thought of and prayed for often!

I wasn't expecting to be done with this so soon. It was so funny. Friday, my husband came home from work, and I had moved my crafting into the kitchen. My craft room was such a mess, I couldn't even cut my cardstock in there! I woke up early morning to clean my room back up, so that I could give the kitchen back its rightful purpose.

Here are some tips for mass producing.
1. Design first. Figure out what you are going to make.
2. Cut it out! Cut all the pieces that you need. Get them stacked and organized. Assemble your stamp pads and supplies. I like to use plastic bins to keep the pieces for each project. A Ziploc bag would work just fine too!
3. Stamp it up! Do all the stamping.
4. Stick it out! You are almost there. Now you just have to stick it all together!
5. Break it down! You don't have to do it all in one sitting. Do little bits at time to make it more enjoyable. I did these cards in about 3 different phases over the weekend.

Now, it's up to you. I can show you the "step by step" approach to these cards and "kick it up a notch", or I can do some completely new designs. It's up to you! You can vote here, or at my YouTube channel.

I always enjoy your comments!

Serene Snowflakes

I was inspired by Kristina at kwernerdesign.  She made an amazing card using some acetate sheets.  I decided to use her card as inspiration for this card. Using window sheets is so much fun!

Have a wonderful day!

I'm Here...I'm Okay

I haven't forgotten about you!  I promise.  I've just had some really busy weeks.  I am planning to hit the craft room tomorrow for some serious video making.  The laundry will just have to wait.  My husband probably feels otherwise, but he loves me enough to put up with my laundry shortcomings!

I just wanted to check in and tell you to check back tomorrow.  I am sure to have something new for you then!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  For now, I am going to relax, plan my videos and watch some television.

See you tomorrow!

Flower Fancy Get Well Card

I realize it has been a while since I've posted anything.  I've had a really busy week with school, a church fundraiser, family pictures...the list goes on.  Hopefully this week will slow down a bit.  I could certainly use the rest and relaxation, although, that doesn't seem to be a part of the curriculum in nursing school.

I do have a new video for you.  I used the Flower Fancy stamp set from Stampin Up.  I've had my eye on this set for quite a while and I finally broke down and purchased it.  It's bold, beautiful and versatile.

Enjoy the video!  I hope you have a wonderful week!  I will be back soon!

Trick or Treat

Here are the results of a power crafting session.  It's cheaper than therapy and works just as well!  I used black textured card stock and the Fancy Favor die for the bags.  I also used Pumpkin Pie designer paper, Pympkin Pie and Old Olive card stock.  The stamp is from the Holiday Best stamp set.  The ribbon is fabulous!  It also comes in Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip.  Hope you have a wonderful day!

The Man Card

I will be the first to admit that I was a little "uninspired" while making this card, and I don't think it's some of my best work.  But, I thought I would post it anyway.  I promise I will give you something a little more inspired in the man department very soon.  In fact, I know of a couple men who have birthdays coming up that I will be making cards for later this week.

On a more personal note, I have a good feeling about this week.  I have a little break from my clinical rotation at the hospital this week, so I am looking forward to getting a lot done.  I am working on some furry scarves for our church fundraiser on November 7th.  I will be doing quite a bit of knitting between now and then. The grand prize is a trip to Disneyworld!  Can you believe that?  Raffle tickets for the trip and more details will be up on my blog tomorrow, so be sure to check back.  I also am hoping to catch up on some laundry, and of course, do some stamping.

I am really hoping that the weather cools down soon.  It's just so warm here still.  It doesn't feel like fall at all.  I am longing for cold, rainy days, with a cup of coffee and some time in my craft room.  That sounds more like fall to me!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Pizzazz Part Two

Just as I promised, here is part two of the series.  I made this cute box with the Sizzix Matchbox die, available only from Stampin Up!  This matchbox has a simple alteration that makes a big difference.

Hope you have a wonderful day.  My school week is almost over, and I am looking forward to relaxing this weekend...and maybe some time in my crafting haven!

This is the first video of a two part series.  I really love this card.  It's young, fun, bright and a little edgy.  Too bad I didn't have on my rock star nail polish when I filmed this video.

The picture below previews the coordinating project. I will be sharing the video for the box later on this week. Check back often!

I love your comments!

Serene Snowflakes Gift Card Holder

Who doesn't need this project?  I think you are going to find this one very useful during the Christmas season.  Remember, any project you see can be done with the stamps and paper that you have.  The possibilities are endless.  These would be great for teacher gifts with a Starbuck's gift card.  Or, if you are a "gift card giver" during Christmas, put them all over your tree for decorations.

Enjoy!  I will be back early next week with the first part of a two part video series for you!  Have a good weekend.  Don't forget, I love to hear your comments!

Extreme Birthday Card

Whew! It's been a busy day for me. Normally, Sundays are church days, but I woke up this morning with a sick little boy. So my sick little guy and I stayed home and I did laundry like a mad woman while he rested!

I really meant to have a video up before now, but the weekend slipped right away from me.

I hope you had a great weekend.

I welcome your comments on my blog or on my You Tube channel. I love to hear what my viewers are thinking.

Let It Snow

Just a quick post to carry through. I will be uploading another video in the next day or two.

For some reason, I got in the Christmas spirit today and decided to make a Christmas card. I really wanted to use the shimmer paint. I cut out two Snowflakes on Bordering Blue card stock, using the Snowflake Sizzix die. I covered one with the Frost White shimmer paint and the other with Platinum shimmer paint, using a sponge dauber.

The background snowflakes were stamped in Whisper White craft ink on Kraft card stock. I coated the edges of this layer with some glitter. The base of the card is Not Quite Navy card stock.
It's so frustrating to me that a camera can never truly capture the beauty of a project!
Enjoy your day! I am headed out to the softball field to play a six o'clock game.

Wings of Friendship

I made this card for my mother's birthday and I love it so much that I decided to use it as one of my October stamp club cards!

I love the Wings of Friendship stamp set. I didn't think I would like it as much as I do. I always love when I am pleasantly surprised by a new addition to my happy stamp family.

Enjoy the video! I always like to hear from my readers, so be sure to leave your comments for me!

I will cut off the voting for the Christmas card on Thursday night. If you haven't voted yet, be sure you go to the previous post and leave a comment.

Vote On Your Favorite

I thought I would try something new. I am going to let you vote on your favorite card. The winner will be one of the cards I use for October stamp club. Post your comments here and we will see who the big winner is. Cast your vote in the comments section below. Anyone can vote, even if you are not a member of my stamp club.Card number one is the Tree Trimmings card (above). I did a video on this one. You can see it on my blog.

Card number two is the Yuletide Christmas card. This set is from the new Holiday mini catalog.

Card number three is the Serene Snowflakes card. The snowflake is embossed in gold.

Another Experiment

After my last experiment, I had a question from a friend about the shimmer spray. I decided to answer this via video so that you could all see the result first hand.

The video showing how to make the shimmer spray is right here on my blog. Also, if you watch the Friends 24-7 video, you will see me use the shimmer paint directly on a stamp. I really love this product. It's a lot of fun to experiment with!

Have a wonderful day and a great weekend. It's going to be a beautiful one here.

Do A Jig--A Stamp-A-Majig

It's a beautiful Wednesday here! It's finally starting to feel like Fall...a little. We are no longer in the 90's-100's, so I am happy with that. When I walked out of the hospital today, I had no idea what beautiful weather I was going to encounter! I was so happy, I almost did a little jig right there in the parking lot.

Speaking of jigs, I have one for you. It's the Stamp-A-Majig. It's a great tool. I really wanted to give you a really good look on how to use it.

If you ever have any questions or requests, please feel free to contact me! I love to hear from my readers and viewers!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Tree Trimmings Christmas Card

I used the Tree Trimmings and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets from Stampin Up to create this Christmas card. I also used the new Christmas Cocoa specialty paper, which I just love. I love damask patterns and this one is flocked (think of velvet).

Now is a great time to start your Christmas cards. Get a head start so you can enjoy the process.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions on the cards I make or the products I use. I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.

This video was previously posted, but had some issues with YouTube. I think the issues have been resolved now.

Shimmer Paint Spray Experiment

I must admit, that I am a skeptic. So when I saw StampWithHeather use this shimmer spray, I had to see if making it was as easy as she said it was. I wanted to film the actual making of the spray from beginning to end so that you could see how easy or difficult it is for yourself. So you be the judge!

I was pleasantly surprised at how easy this technique really is. You need some rubbing alcohol, Stampin Up's shimmer paint, and a spray bottle. I used the Champagne colored shimmer paint.

Enjoy your day!

Rockin Birthday

Here is a quick card that I made for my niece for her birthday. There is not a lot of stamping, but you can see that die cuts or stickers can be used on your cards.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Friends 24-7 Birthday Card

I LOVE the way this card turned out. I really wish the camera could capture the beauty of it, but it just can't do it justice.

I used the Friends 24-7, and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets to create this card. I also used the new shimmer paint in Champagne.

Stampin Up! colors used-Kraft, Chocolate Chip, Dusty Durango and Very Vanilla.
The hardware is from the Vanilla Hodgepodge Hardware kit.

Enjoy your weekend!

Petal Pizzazz Birthday Card

I am having a lot of fun with the Petal Pizzazz set. Here is a card I made for my niece, Hannah, using the Petal Pizzazz set. I also used the Happy Everything stamp set, which is one of my favorites.

I tried to create a younger color scheme than what I normally use. So I used Cameo Coral card stock and some green textured card stock by Core'dinations.

Enjoy! I hope you have a wonderful weekend. I was able to film several videos this weekend, so I should be back with another video early in the week!

I appreciate your comments on my YouTube channel, or here on my blog!

Baby Card Challenge

It's a challenge for me and a challenge for you! I challenged myself not to use some of the supplies that I always use on this card. I think the result was great.

Feel free to challenge yourself and post a link to your card in the comments section of my blog! I hope you'll play along!

I just love this stamp set from Stampin Up! It's called Everything Nice. I used it on my last post for a birthday card. Love the "Snips and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails" for a little boy. It would also make a great stamp for a scrapbook page.

Have a good weekend!

How Cute Is This?

Okay, so you might be thinking that these pictures do not display my best work. This card was made by my five year old daughter, who now calls herself a "crafter". When she saw me making the Sweet Centers card for my sister-in-law, she knew she had to make Aunt Kara one too! I have a whole box of scraps that she has free access to. She also has her very own tape runner. She cut up paper scraps and put this together for Aunt Kara and I just had to share it!
Can you see the A and the K for Aunt Kara? She even decorated the inside of the card.

I have to admit, it just thrills me that she shares a love for paper crafting!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I will be working on a video soon! I've been under the weather and am waiting until I feel a bit better!

Truly Sprinkled With Glitter

I absolutely love this card! It's messy, but super fun and sparkly! If you've never used Heat and Stick powder before, you may want to try it out after you see this video!

For this card, I used Stampin Up! Kraft cardstock, Old Olive Designer Paper and some Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. I also used a healthy portion of the Fine Cosmo Glitter in Pink from Stampin Up!

Enjoy! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Just For Fun

I'm trying to have as much fun as I possibly can. The RN program is starting Monday and I just feel like I have to pack as much in as I possibly can.

If you know me at all, you know that I love coffee! You also have probably figured out that I love stamping! So I figured I would combine some of my favorite things and make a card!

I thought the perfect saying for this card would be "Hey Hot Stuff!" What would you put on it?
"Love you a Latte." "Thanks a Latte."

Also, I think this is the most perfect "bow" that I have ever done, so I just had to include a picture of it! (I am really good at tooting my own horn!)

Stampin Up Colors Used--Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa
Stampin Up Ribbon--Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
Stampin Up Inks--Close to Cocoa and Whisper White

Monogram Note Cards

My computer issues have been fixed! The guy that fixed my computer told me that he was "thrown for a loop by my issues." I told him that my husband feels like that everyday! I am grateful that I didn't lose any of my information, especially this video that I had ready to go.

I start the Registered Nursing program on Monday, so life is getting ready to get really crazy. I am just praying that God will give me the strength to keep up with everything!

I hope you enjoy today's video! I made these monogram note cards for my sister-in-law, Sommer, after she endured us being at her house for several days! I was waiting for her to get them in the mail before I posted the video!

Computer Issues

The Geek Squad is supposed to be here this morning to fix my computer issues. My desktop has gone down and until I get that fixed, my videos are in a black hole. I am hoping that they can recover the video that I already had edited and ready to post on my blog. Keep checking back! I hope to have some crafting inspiration for you soon!
