Yuletide Christmas

I have had an amazingly productive week. I haven't gotten much crafting done, but I have gotten a lot of other things done. My house is clean and decorated for Christmas. I wish it could look like this all the time. I have a feeling that when I return to school next week, the whirlwind will hit and it will quickly look disheveled. It has been a good week. I really needed the break from school to catch my breath and tend to mommy things...which are never done. I did actually say out loud this week that I really miss my stay at home mommy days. The good news is that I only have a couple weeks left in this semester and I will be done with the first semester of the nursing program. Three more to go.

Today we are off to my in-laws for another Thanksgiving feast. I tried to call it dinner the other day and Elliot, my five year old daughter, informed me that, "It is called a FEAST!"

Here is the next of my soldier cards. I used the Yuletide Christmas stamp set to create this card. I hope you enjoy your day!

Tree Trimmings Kicked Up

I will apologize in advance for the choppiness of this video.

I took the second of the cards I made for the soldiers and kicked it up. I love the way it turned out! The length of the video is very deceiving. If I had to do it again, I know I could whip this one out in less than ten minutes.

Is it me, or do my hands look swollen? I need to drink more water and less coffee.

The Noel card from my last video was by far the most popular card of all the soldiers cards, so I decided to kick it up a notch and share it with all of you. I am really pleased with the "kicked up" version.

I hope you enjoy the video and I hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Cards for Soldiers

On Friday, I decided to help my friend with a project. She is head of an operation called Creating A Cozy Christmas. Her and her students are making blankets and handmade cards for soldiers in Afghanistan for Christmas. Here it is, Sunday night, and I'm already done! Wow! 40 cards for soldiers who will be away from home for Christmas. I really enjoyed doing this. I appreciate our soldiers and their sacrifice. I hope they have a very Merry Christmas and know that they are thought of and prayed for often!

I wasn't expecting to be done with this so soon. It was so funny. Friday, my husband came home from work, and I had moved my crafting into the kitchen. My craft room was such a mess, I couldn't even cut my cardstock in there! I woke up early morning to clean my room back up, so that I could give the kitchen back its rightful purpose.

Here are some tips for mass producing.
1. Design first. Figure out what you are going to make.
2. Cut it out! Cut all the pieces that you need. Get them stacked and organized. Assemble your stamp pads and supplies. I like to use plastic bins to keep the pieces for each project. A Ziploc bag would work just fine too!
3. Stamp it up! Do all the stamping.
4. Stick it out! You are almost there. Now you just have to stick it all together!
5. Break it down! You don't have to do it all in one sitting. Do little bits at time to make it more enjoyable. I did these cards in about 3 different phases over the weekend.

Now, it's up to you. I can show you the "step by step" approach to these cards and "kick it up a notch", or I can do some completely new designs. It's up to you! You can vote here, or at my YouTube channel.

I always enjoy your comments!

Serene Snowflakes

I was inspired by Kristina at kwernerdesign.  She made an amazing card using some acetate sheets.  I decided to use her card as inspiration for this card. Using window sheets is so much fun!

Have a wonderful day!

I'm Here...I'm Okay

I haven't forgotten about you!  I promise.  I've just had some really busy weeks.  I am planning to hit the craft room tomorrow for some serious video making.  The laundry will just have to wait.  My husband probably feels otherwise, but he loves me enough to put up with my laundry shortcomings!

I just wanted to check in and tell you to check back tomorrow.  I am sure to have something new for you then!  I hope you have a wonderful day!  For now, I am going to relax, plan my videos and watch some television.

See you tomorrow!

Flower Fancy Get Well Card

I realize it has been a while since I've posted anything.  I've had a really busy week with school, a church fundraiser, family pictures...the list goes on.  Hopefully this week will slow down a bit.  I could certainly use the rest and relaxation, although, that doesn't seem to be a part of the curriculum in nursing school.

I do have a new video for you.  I used the Flower Fancy stamp set from Stampin Up.  I've had my eye on this set for quite a while and I finally broke down and purchased it.  It's bold, beautiful and versatile.

Enjoy the video!  I hope you have a wonderful week!  I will be back soon!
