Gift Card Box Tutorial

I want to than Angie and www.mychicnscratch.com for this wonderful idea.  I made her box and I loved it...except for one thing.  I wanted to put a gift card in it and a gift card wouldn't fit.  So I altered the box to make it the size I wanted.  The best part is that you can make the box from a single sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 piece of card stock and it stores flat.  It's perfect for making in advance.

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  It is a beautiful day here in California.  The sun is shining and the weather feels just perfect.  I am hoping to get into my craft room in just a bit before I have to hit the books....again!  Boy, nursing school sure is a lot of work!  Some days, I really miss my stay at home mommy days.

Have a wonderful, sun shiny day...wherever you may be!

CHA Fun

I went with my wonderful friend Breanne to Anaheim to check out CHA.  Neither of us had ever been.  We had such a great time.  I am looking forward to another trip next year!

For those who aren't familiar with CHA, it stands for Craft and Hobby Association.  It was held at the Anaheim Convention Center.  There are vendors from all over the country with booths.  There are tons of items to purchase.

There were so many booths with make and takes. Most of them were free. We made some cute cards, a check book cover, some awesome bangles and we even screen printed t-shirts. I loved being able to see all of the products that are available. I was completely inspired.

We had the opportunity to meet Robyn, also known as My Pink Stamper (The Pink Stamper). She is a lot of fun. I even won a prize at her booth. I included my winning in the video. I was very lucky that several people didn't show up for the drawing. You will see her pull tons of names, all of which were no shows, before she gets to my name. She had an adorable make and take at her booth!

I came home with a bunch of loot, but because school has been so incredibly busy, it's all still sitting in bags in my craft room. I do plan on getting to some of it this weekend.

I didn't do a whole lot of videoing, but here is a little video I put together of our fun time at CHA!

Circle Circus Birthday

Hello everyone!  I hope you are getting geared up to have I wonderful weekend.  I am leaving this morning to go to CHA with my very good friend!  I am very excited to go check it out.  I've never been.

I thought I would leave you with a video.  I wanted to make a card that was a little different.  I have to say, it is very reminiscent of Kristina Werner's style.  You can see her blog HERE.

I hope you have a wonderful day and an even better weekend!

A Teeny Tiny Gift

When I set out to do this video today, with my new HD camera and my new software, I had no idea that the video would take four hours to upload!  Oh my goodness!  I apologize for the delay.  But it is finally done and ready for your viewing.

In the video, you will notice that I used my Cricut machine to cut the shapes.  For your information, I cut the shapes from the Storybook cartridge.  I used the accent blackout feature to cut them.  They were cut at 1 3/4 and 1 1/2 inches.  They were cut on Stampin Up card stock, of course!

Thanks for watching!  Enjoy your day!

Card Measurements and Supplies

On another note, you will notice some changes to the blog.  Apparently, because of the new video format, I had to reformat the blog to fit the video size.  It seems there is just one thing after another when converting things!  I hope to have the blog polished up and "fixed" soon.  Thanks for your patience!

Video Coming Soon!

I think I have my new gear all figured out. I am hoping to get a video filmed, edited and posted later today. You will notice some changes...I think for the better.  I will be able to use my new camera with my new software, so my videos will be available in HD format on YouTube. Be sure to check back and let me know what you think.

I am really excited to get into my craft room today, but I have to wait until after Preston's basketball game. I really don't know why they have to have basketball games so late on Saturday morning. The league game times are 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm on Saturday. Why can't we have it at 8, 9 or 10 am so there's not a huge hole in the middle of my day?

I am also gearing up to start back to school this week.  Luckily, because of the holiday, I only have to go to school one day this week.  I am going to try to be responsible in my time management so that I can have the house in order before I start back.  It won't stay that way for long once the full weight of the semester hits, but at least I can start out on a good foot.

Here's The Scoop

If you watched my last video, you already know that I got a new video camera for Christmas. You also know that I am currently unable to edit the video from the new camera on the software I currently have. So I decided to upgrade...and I am now anxiously awaiting Mr. Fed Ex to bring me a package. Once I get that, I plan on editing and posting a new video. However, it may take some time for me to adjust to new software.

You may also notice that my videos will look a little different...I am hoping that this big upgrade will improve the overall quality of the video and the editing.

I just wanted to keep you posted. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I am super excited about the changes! I just hope the adjustment isn't too difficult for me.

On a more personal note, I am getting ready to start school again. If you don't know, I am a nursing student and mother of three. School starts on the 20th. The "powers that be" have warned us all that this semester is more challenging than the last, so I am getting a bit nervous. Christmas break has been nice. I have been able to get some projects and laundry done. Hopefully I will start the semester with a short to do list! But I can tell you this, I am already looking forward to summer vacation!

Enjoy your day!

I {Heart} Hearts Card

I hope you all had a wonderful new year. I went away with my husband and some good friends and had a fabulous time!

Valentine's Day will be here before we know it. I thought I would start the year out with a quick and easy card. Understated is the name of the game for this card.

Enjoy your day! I am off to watch my boy in his first basketball game.
