The One With The Chipboard Hearts

In celebration of Studio Calico release day (Yay that's today) I've put together a very special project for you.

This card combines both Studio Calico March Card Kits, Office Hours and Water Cooler.  I thought it would be fun to show you how the kits work fabulously within themselves, and also with each other.  It's a cool little feature of the Studio Calico Kits.

Wood veneer is a fun accent for your card making or scrapbooking projects.  The Office Hours kit comes with wood veneer that coordinates with the stamp set.  I thought it would be fun to include some tips for stamping on wood veneer.

Tips For Stamping On Wood Veneer

  • Choose a pigment ink.  These will bleed the least.  Dye inks will bleed significantly on wood veneer.  For this card, I used Versafine Onyx Black Pigment Ink.
  • Use a stamp press.  This will allow you to wiggle your way down on to the wood veneer and get your stamp positioned just perfectly.
  • Test stamp on a piece of paper before stamping on your wood veneer.  You'll get a better feel for your stamp and you'll see if you're inking properly.
  • Attach wood veneer with foam adhesive or with a liquid glue.  I like Tombow Mono Multi Liquid Glue or Glossy Accents.  Glossy accents also acts as a really cool embellishments on your cards.

I've included a video tutorial below, walking you through the entire creation of this card.  You'll find links to the products used in this card below as well.  Just click on the picture to link directly to the products.

*Please note that the links to the kits will activate at midnight EST.  If you are a Studio Calico kit subscriber, the links will already be activated for you.  It's one of the perks of being a subscriber…you can purchase kits before the general public.
