Luminary Circles Birthday Card - Playing With Distress Inks

Hi everyone!  I hope you are having  fabulous Monday.  I know, I know...it's still Monday.  But hopefully today's card will brighten your day a little.  Today's card features the Luminary Circles die from Simon Says Stamp and a fun technique with Distress Inks.

I don't do a lot of playing at times...and today's card was all about playing.  I got inky.  I made a mess...and in the end...that mess resulted in something really therapeutic and beautiful.  I knew I wanted to create a rainbow inked background for my die.  But the fun part was experimenting with ways of adding texture to the inked piece.  In the end, I used a misted background stamp to add just a bit of texture to the inked area.

I've been loving the Tag Die Set from Studio Calico.  There are several tag sizes that seem to work so well on cards.  I layered up a vellum tag and a gold glitter tag for my sentiment on this card.  It was the perfect touch to this simple birthday card.

I also think this card would be fun in an ombre theme.  Instead of rainbow inking, you could achieve an ombre effect by using three or four different inks in the same color family.

I have included a video below, walking you through the entire creation of this card.  I've also included links to all the products used in this project below.

I'm so glad you stopped by today!  I hope you've been inspired to play a little in your craft spot.  If you enjoyed the video, please make sure you give it a thumbs up on YouTube...and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any of my card making videos.  Also, follow me on Instagram (@carissawiley), where I share lots of fun peeks at projects and my life!
