You Amaze Me - Simple Copic Coloring

Hi everyone!  I took a little break last week to go to CHA in Anaheim.  I had a blast and came back completely inspired.  Today, I thought it would be fun to share a piece of that inspiration with you...that came in the form of one of my outfits while at CHA.  (You'll see the outfit selfie in the video tutorial below.)  Fashion and clothing is a wonderful place to find inspiration...so when you're feeling a little dry in the inspiration tank, take a look in your closet, or at you favorite clothing store and see what you can find.

Today, I'm using the Hero Arts Classic Bloom stamp to do some simple Copic coloring and a whole lot of masking.  I'll go through a really basic Copic coloring technique in the video tutorial as well.  I'm in no way a Copic expert, but this basic technique is easy enough for even me!

I also used masking to create the layered effect for the flowers, and also to stamp the striped background over my finished flowers.  I have to admit, there was quite a bit of fussy cutting involved in this card (a technique I'm not overly fond of due to my lack of patience), but the end result was worth the time and trouble.

When I started making this card, I had not planned out my sentiment.  I was lucky enough to find the perfect sentiment for this card in my stash.  I used the You stamp and die set from Simon Says Stamp to add the perfect sentiment to this card, without distracting from the beautiful blooms that I colored.

I have included a video tutorial below, walking you through the entire creation of this card.  (Don't forget to give it a thumbs up at YouTube if you liked it!)  I have also linked all the supplies used in this card below.
