Sending You Love - Creating Faux Flair

Hi everyone!  A few weeks ago, I posted a photo of my outfit on Instagram (follow me HERE) and thought it would be great inspiration for a card project.  Today, I'm taking that inspiration and putting it into card form.  (I have a whole class on using inspiration pieces to create cards over at Big Picture Classes called Inspiration Ignited).

I used the outfit colors and patterns to inspire my color choices as well as the patterns.  The skirt I'm wearing in the photo has a very geometric pattern, so I chose the grid, stripes and the On The Diagonal background stamp to mimic that feel.  The pool color and gold were accents in the outfit, so I kept them that way on the card as well.

I love the look of flair and thought it would be really fun to create my own faux flair for this card project.  The size of the hello stamp from The Sending Happy Thought stamp set is the perfect size to create this faux flair look, because it fits perfectly in a 1 inch circle punch...which in turn works perfectly with the 1 inch epoxy stickers from Bottle Caps.  Technique Tuesday also makes some perfect stamps for this technique...you can find a bunch of those HERE and HERE.

You don't have to heat emboss a stamp to make fun faux flair either.  You can use your favorite patterned paper or stamp with ink on card stock.

I've included a video tutorial below, walking you through the entire creation of this card.  If you've enjoyed this project, be sure to give it a thumbs up.

I've also included links to the supplies used in this project below.  Just click the product to link directly to the product page.  I've also included multiple sources for a lot of the items. :)

I hope you've enjoyed this card today and I hope you've been inspired to make your own flair.  These little do-dads would be fun on top of a package as well.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a fabulous day!
