Celebrate Shaker Card And Simple Copic Coloring

Hey everyone!  I'm really excited about today's card.  From the first time I saw the Diagonal Window Die from the Essentials By Ellen line, I've had this idea in my head.  I finally had time to make this vision come to life...and I love the way it turned out.  It's such a fun surprise and a little different take on your traditional shaker card.

I love the way this die creates a fun interactive window on the front of any card.  You could of course use it for any type of card...birthday, thank you, thinking of you...the sky is the limit.  You can tie the window closed with some twine or some beautiful ribbon.  It almost feels like the recipient is opening a present when they open this card.

I used the Wish Big Stamp set to stamp some balloons on the inside of my shaker card.  I used some simple Copic coloring to color my balloons (I've listed the colors I used below).  I added my darkest color first and just blended it out using the lighter color.  I was also careful to leave a small area that I didn't color over too much.  This gives me three different shades using just two makers.  The more you color over one spot, the darker it will get.  So tread lightly in a small area to create the glare or highlight on your images.

I used the celebrate sentiment from the Zipper Panel Die (also an Essentials By Ellen product) to cut a sentiment for the inside and outside of this card.  This die is so beautiful and intricate.  To make sure it cut cleanly through the glitter card stock, I used my Precision Base Plate.  I always get fantastic results when I use the Precision Base Plate to cut the glitter card stock.  I love this delicate sentiment!  It's the perfect amount of sparkly goodness.

I used some Pretty Pink Posh sequins for the shaker pieces in this shaker card.  The sparkling clear are my favorite!  They're the perfect match for any project.  I also added some gold in there too!  I like to fix some of my sequins in place using some Multi Medium Matte.  This keeps all of the sequins from falling to the bottom when the card is held upright.  The Multi Medium is a great strong adhesive for adhering sequins.  I've added a precision tip to mine to make it even easier to add small amounts of this adhesive for adhering sequins.

I've created a video tutorial below walking you through the entire creation of this card.  You can watch how I put this all together...and I'll talk you through some of the details.  I've also linked all the products used in this project below.  Just click the product to link directly to the product page.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you've enjoyed this project!  I hope you have a fabulous day!
