Stamped Foil Accents - Essentials By Ellen Late Summer 2016 Release Hop

Hey everyone!  I'm so excited to be here today sharing some new projects as a part of the Late Summer 2016 Essentials by Ellen Release Hop!  This hop is full of inspiration, fun and PRIZES! I'll be using a couple of the new stamp sets and coordinating dies in my projects today.  I've also included a video tutorial for you below.  Be sure to check that out!

I think the Stay Golden stamp set is by far my favorite.  I mean, who doesn't love a good pineapple stamp set?  I love the whimsical feel of this set.  I also love that there are so many elements that can be layered or used alone.  I've used this stamp set and coordinating die set for my first card.

I knew I wanted to add some foil accents to my pineapple.  I tried several methods and found that using the Heidi Swapp Minc Toner Pen was my favorite.  I found double stamping with this pen gave me the best results.  I also tried using a couple of different bonding embossing powders.  I'll walk you through all of the methods, and give you some tips and tricks, in the video tutorial below.

I knew when I saw this pineapple that the accent lines HAD to be foiled.  And I LOVE the results.

And can we just talk about that sentiment?  How beautiful is the hand scripted message on this card?  Love the big bold sassy greetings in the Stay Golden stamp set.

I used the Lovely stamp set, combined with the Mondo Peony stamp set to create the next couple of cards.  These stamp sets pair beautifully together.  They also can be used separately.

For this card, I created a watercolor underlay.  I used the die, blade side up, to trace the shape of the Mondo Peony on my watercolor paper.  Then I kept my watercolor within those lines so that the stamped image would line up with the watercolor underneath.

Julie's line of Mondo flowers have been some of my favorites from the past releases.  This Mondo Peony has taken over first place in the Mondo line for me.  I have so many ways I want to color this gorgeous stamp.

For the second card, I stamped the Mondo Peony using Staz On ink on the Essentials By Ellen vellum....my favorite.  Then I embossed the sentiment over the top of the stamped peony.

To add color, I used Copic markers on the back of the vellum.  Love this method for quick color on vellum.  The results are fabulous.

The sentiments in the Lovely stamp set are just beautiful.  And I love that there are sentiments for a variety of occasions.  These have a very elegant feel and are sure to dress up any card.

I don't usually stamp sentiments on the inside of my card...but this one just felt right.

So there you have it...three new projects featuring stamps and dies from the Essentials By Ellen line.  You're going to love this new release!
