Blessed Christmas - Simon Says Stamp Believe Release

Hey everyone!  Thanks for stopping by today.  I have a couple of really fun holiday projects to share with you featuring some new items from the Simon Says Stamp Believe In The Season Release, which is available NOW!

I was able to get a few of these products early and create a couple of cards.  I have to say, I was inspired from the second I saw the Magical Christmas and Christmas Essentials stamp sets.

These cards, might look complicated, but they're really quite simple.  I have included a video tutorial below walking you through the entire creation of the cards.

I started by stamping the deer and the bear images from the Magical Christmas stamp set on some smooth white card stock.  I inked the image first in Versmark ink and then layered my dye ink over the top.  This allowed me to add some clear embossing powder over the top of the stamped images.  This layer of clear embossing powder really makes the colors more vibrant and gives a little bit of added shine to finished cards.

I don't have coordinating dies for these images, so I just decided to fussy cut the images after I heat embossed them.  I left a thin white border around the stamped image to give it the appearance that it was die cut.

To frame my images, I used a couple of die cut ovals with a bit of stitching.  I knew I wanted some texture on these ovals, so I opted to stamp a background using the script sentiment from the Christmas Essentials stamp set.  I used a pale gray ink to keep the pattern very subtle.  I love how the script of this stamp coordinates with the script on the deer head.

The sentiment on the bear also coordinates with one of the sentiments from the Christmas Essentials stamp set.  I love how well these two sets just work together.

I stamped the banner greeting using a darker gray ink.  Because this image is really solid and I wanted to get a good impression, I prepped my stamp by adding some Versamark ink prior to inking my stamp with the dye ink.

Once again, I used my scissors to fussy cut the banners.

To add some color and pattern to my card base, I used the large border stamp from the Magical Christmas stamp set.  I stamped it using the same inks I used for my focal images.  This is a fun way to bring in more color, pattern and texture.

The border on the edge of the card really has a very modern, yet traditional feel.  I think it would be really fun to use this stamp to create an entire background as well.

Once I had assembled my cards, I decided that they really needed just a little something extra.  I used the Concord & 9th Take A Bough die to add some greenery to my cards.  It was just the right touch.  It never quite feels like Christmas to me unless there is some pine boughs or holly hanging around.

I finished the cards off by adding just a few little embellishments.  I added some small twine bows around the greenery.  I also added a few sparkling clear sequins for some sparkle.  I added some mini jingle bells to the deer image as well, which I thought was the perfect finishing touch.

As I mentioned before, I have a video tutorial below walking you through the creation of these cards. I've also included links to the products used in these projects below.
