Valentine's is one of my favorite times of the year...right behind Christmas! I was married to by wonderful husband just before Valentine's day in 2001. We spent our first Valentine's Day together as a married couple. On top of it being a very sentimental and dear time of the year for me, I am a sucker for hearts! I always have been. When I was a little girl, my room was decorated with hearts....and I'm sure you've noticed that I use hearts quite often in my projects.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I thought I would share a quick Valentine's Day card with you. This is a very versatile card. It's not too frilly, and not too lovey-dovey, so you could really use it for anyone! It would make a great teacher card or a card for a friend or even a parent.

I love using Kraft card stock {Crumb Cake from Stampin' Up in this instance} with red. Such a great look! I think Kraft card stock gives a totally hand made feel to any project. It's also a great neutral base for any project. It goes with anything! It's the little black dress of your crafting stash.

The tag came from the Tag It Kit from Lifestyle Crafts. My husband and I don't usually do too much for Valentine's Day {probably because our anniversary is just 4 days before Valentine's Day}. This year we'll be spending Valentine's at home. I have a very special dinner planned for him {a special treat that I only make a few times a year}.

Ribbons, And Paper, And Glitter, OH MY! 2012 Winter CHA Highlights

Last week, I had the privilege of going to my very first CHA Trade Show. I have always "watched from the sidelines" as other craft bloggers and companies reported from CHA...and I have ALWAYS wanted to go and be a part of the action. A couple of years ago, my friend Breanne and I went to the CHA Super Show and had a blast. I was thrilled to go to the CHA Trade Show and see (and touch) all of the newest products in the paper crafting industry.

I have put together some highlights from my trip. I wanted to show some of the great paper lines, crafting products and tools that I saw while in Anaheim. I'll comment on the photos in the collages below by working left to right, top to bottom (just like you would read a book).

Konichiwa from Basic Grey (Asian themes and those cute little Asian girls were showing up all over the show). I also found a couple of great paper companies that I have never heard of before. Glimpses by Signify Pink makes some fabulous paper and party supplies. I also loved the Asian themed line by Grant Studios...actually, on second thought, I loved all of the paper by Grant Studios. The final picture in this collage is an adorable little doll, collaged with the Konichiwa papers by Basic Grey.

These projects were all at the Lifestyle Crafts booth....and were all made by me! I can't believe that my projects were on display at one of the largest crafting industry events in the world! WOW! One of the best parts about CHA is the opportunity to see all the products that you hear about (and see online) in person. I was really impressed by the Pow Glitter Paper by American Crafts. The glitter really doesn't come off...and it doesn't feel like traditional glitter...but has all the shine you could ever ask for. I'm also excited to try the new Glitter Dust...coming soon to a store near you! This spray adds some shimmer to your paper projects (well...actually any project) without warping. Can't wait to get my hands on some! I also stopped by the Copic booth and got some tips on Copic coloring. It really was easier than I could have imagined, and I can't wait to have some of these fabulous markers in my stash. I mean, who doesn't love to color? I was also impressed by WOW Glitter Embossing Powder. Did I mention I like things with glitter? Especially when the glitter sticks on the project and not my skin!

The Cricut booth had some fabulous projects on display! And Vanna White made an appearance for Lion Brand yarns. I also saw Tori Spelling debuting her new jewelry line. I fell head over heals for some of Lawn Fawn's stamps....LOVE those chevron pattern stamps! And would you look at that paper collection by Heidi Swapp? Can you say FABULOUS?

I saw this new little gadget by Imaginisce. I wonder if it actually works. It cuts and seal ribbon at the same time, preventing it from fraying. Genius idea...if it actually works. I'll have to test it out. I may be too impatient to wait for something to warm up just to cut a piece of ribbon.

I also met the so super sweet Kami. She also designs for Lifestyle Crafts. I've been admiring her from afar for so long. She is super talented!

My final bit from CHA...and the best advice I could give ANY future attendees.... BEWARE OF THE ROLLING SUITCASES! Seriously, these things are everywhere...and they are dangerous! But, I wish I would have had a rolling tote of some sort. My bag was very heavy by the end of the day!

Hi everyone! Are you having a wonderful day? I hope you are! Today is the day that all of the Pink Designers from My Pink Stamper post projects on their blog. This month's theme is "Be My Valentine". I wanted my project to be a card that you could give to just about anyone. It doesn't have an ultra feminine or romantic feel, so you could use this card for a special friend, a teacher, a child....and it's still masculine enough to use for the special man in your life!

I used the My Pink Stamper Fabulous Phrases stamp set! I just love this set. It's perfect for creating banners across your cards (which we all know that I love to do). My Pink Stamper has another set called More Fabulous Phrases...I can't wait to get my hands on that set!

Valentine Rosettes

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day and staying warm. It's been quite chilly here this past week. Lucky for me, I got to stay home and craft today. So while I was in my little craft room, I thought I would put together a quick, yet adorable project for you!

For these Valentine Rosettes, I used the Lifestyle Crafts Rosettes Die Set. I know I've demonstrated rosettes on my blog before, but that was BEFORE these fabulous dies from Lifestyle Crafts. I can't believe how much easier these are to put together! I walk you through the entire process in the video below.

A few helpful hints for putting these little guys together...

*Hot glue works fabulously (because it dries so quickly). No hot glue? No problem. Use a strong liquid glue and place something heavy on top to secure it while drying.

*You can hide the circle behind the rosette and embellish the middle with a button, felt shape, or other fun embellishment, or you can use the circle to your advantage, and create layers (like I did here).

*Try cutting the die cut strips to different widths to change the size of your rosette.

*You can make the rosette smaller or larger depending on how tight you squeeze your center while assembling.

*Attach them to cards, boxes, gift bags, pens, lollipop sticks or treat bags, or stick them in centerpieces for fast and fabulous embellishments!

*Changing the embellishment in the center can completely change the look and feel of these rosettes. Use hearts, cupcakes, numbers, monograms, Easter eggs, shamrocks, buttons, pumpkins, leaves, candy canes (you get the picture)...and use them all year long!

Don't Sweat The Small Stuff Journal-My Pink Stamper Pinkalicious Blog Hop & A Giveaway

Our challenge this month was to create a project, either for ourselves or someone else, that would help us welcome the fresh start of the New Year. I decided to create a gratitude journal. This had been one of my goals for the new year anyway, so I thought this was the perfect time to personalize a little journal that I could use for this purpose.

I used My Pink Stamper's Fabulous Phrases stamp set for my sentiment piece. This set TRULY is FABULOUS! I love the long, thin sentiments...they're perfect for banner shapes (which I happen to LOVE). This saying is perfect for my gratitude journal. It reminds me to remember all of the wonderful things and not concentrate on the things that don't matter.

The cuts on this project are from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge. I mention all of the measurements in the video below, so check that out for complete instructions. To finish off my little hearts, I "frosted" them with some Stardust Stickles. Perfect touch of sparkle for this project.

I created this gift card holder in just a few easy steps (which you can see in the video below). These are prefect for those last minute gifts....and so easy to mass produce.

I saw the sketch idea somewhere on YouTube and I changed the dimensions, folds, etc. to make it my own. It's great to find inspiration on the internet and then take it and make a whole new and different creation with it! You know the best part? It fits in a standard A2 size envelope!

And of course, every great card needs some great stamps! I used the My Pink Stamper Biggie Christmas stamp set for the sentiment on this tag. I thought the tag was the perfect place to feature this beautiful "Merry Christmas" stamp. I love how the style of the font on this stamp goes so well with the elegant feel of this card. Of course, there is another "Merry Christmas" sentiment in the Biggie Christmas set as well. It is perfect for a more "casual" feel.

This card design is simple, yet stunning. The rhinestone in the center makes it feel very special. And these cards are flat enough that they don't require additional postage for mailing. The ribbon lays flat, so you don't have bulk to deal with when packaging them up or mailing them!

My Favorite Peep-My Pink Stamper November Design Team Post

Hi everyone! Are you getting ready for a FABULOUS Thanksgiving? I'm not sure about you, but I have a lot to be thankful for! Even when things are down, I know I have a lot to be thankful for. I figured this little chick (from Create A Critter) was the perfect cut to go along with the sentiment "You're my favorite peep!" The Christmas Card that stands up! I created this using the Card And Photo Easel Die, which also includes the holly leaf shapes.

This desk calendar was also created using the Card And Photo Easel Die.

Don't you just love this Bakery Box Die? The best part is that the box is pre-scored...making it super easy to fold and be done with it! The label shape used to cut the window is also included with this die.

This project, using the Bakery Box Die, uses the other label shape included with the set to cut the window. I also used the Oh, Happy Day alphabet to spell out the word LOVE. (The heart is from the It Kits Release.)

Another Bakery Box Die project, this time using the Manhattan Alphabet die. These mini letters are FABULOUS!

Guilt free peppermints? I think so! These peppermints were created using the Rosettes Die set. Oh my goodness! The Rosettes Die makes these a SNAP!

This canvas wall hanging also uses theRosettes Die set. I love how this set has a scalloped edge rosette and a straight edge rosette. Simply cut and trim to create various sizes!

My project features the Biggie Family Sentiments set from My Pink Stamper Stamps. There are tons of fabulous stamps that you can combine to make your very own sentiments. I used the stamps to create a saying on the banners. The banners and all of the Cricut cuts on this project are from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

This page is an 8x8 scrapbook page, as I find these much more manageable for me! Scrapbooking always puts me a little out of my comfort zone....not sure why. The same concepts apply to scrapbook pages as to cards.

It Kits Hot Cocoa Pocket Featuring Lifestyle Crafts New It Kits + A Giveaway

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous day! I have created a fun and easy project for you today using the new Lifestyle Crafts It Kits. These fabulous little die sets are a lot of fun to create with. And they come with digital files for cutting with your digital cutting machine!

For this Hot Cocoa holder, I used a digital shape and changed the size to accommodate my packet of hot cocoa. I used my Silhouette to cut it at 5.25 x 9.6 inches. The scalloped edge is also from one of the It Kits, as well as the heart in the center of the snowflake.

I have a video below showing the entire process for making this holder. I think there are so many possibilities for this shape. Here are just some of the ideas I have come up with-

Wishing You Lots of Love Christmas Card Featuring My Pink Stamper Stamps

Hello everyone! Are you ready for tons of inspiration to kick off your Christmas card making season? Today on My Pink Stamper you can see a Christmas card from every one of the My Pink Stamper Design Team members (and there are a lot of us)! My project features the Biggie Christmas Sentiments stamp set from My Pink Stamper. There are a fabulous variety of messages included in this stamp set for your Christmas and Holiday card making needs. But I fell in love with the sentiment "Wishing you lots of love this Christmas."

My card measures 3.5 x 7 inches. I wanted to do a card that was a little different in shape...and I know a lot of you like to see something a little different every now and then. I remember seeing this idea for a "banner" going down the length of the card (I wish I remember who inspired it), and I thought I would try it myself.

I have a video below walking you through the entire process of this card. I'll show you how to "stretch" your 6x6 paper all the way down the front of a 7 inch card. Here are the fast details for those who want the information without watching the video.

Yummy-licious Treat Bag-Pink-alicious Blog Hop October & A Giveaway!

Our challenge this month was to create a treat or goody bag and incorporate some of My Pink Stamper's fabulous stamps. I chose to make a Halloween goody bag since it is right around the corner. I have a video below showing the entire process. I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut the treat bag at 5.5 inches. I also used the Doodlecharms cartridge to cut my simple pumpkin at 2.25 inches. I finished off the whole thing by adding an adorable sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Yummy-licious stamp set and a little bit of glitter. The whole project is very simple, but the little touches really make it special.

Using Photoshop Elements 9

1. Open the Photoshop Elements Program.

2. From the File menu, choose Open.

3. Find your digital paper and click open. Note: when I opened the paper in PSE9, it asked me if I wanted to convert the mode. I chose Convert Mode.

4. From the File menu, choose Print.

5. Choose your printer. Under Paper Size, choose Letter.FullBleed. Under Select Print Size, choose Actual Size.

6. Make sure you have your paper loaded and click Print.

If The Broom Fits-My Pink Stamper Design Team Post, September

Hi everyone! Are you ready for some fabulous inspiration? Today, all the My Pink Stamper Design Team members have posted projects on their blogs for your viewing pleasure.

When we were given our “assignment” for the month, we were told to create a project using the new My Pink Stamper Spook-alicious stamp set and include orange, green, purple and black.

I knew right away that I wanted to use the “If the broom fits….ride it” sentiment. But I don’t really own any Halloween cartridges. Luckily, I found a broom, witches hat and spider web on my Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. Whew! I really wanted to use the new Chic and Scary Cricut cartridge, but couldn’t seem to find a place that actually had it in stock.

On the inside of the card, I stamped a sentiment. I don’t usually do anything to the inside of my cards (that’s where I write) but the Happy Halloween sentiment was the perfect size. I added the little spider to the block and stamped both images at the same time.

I also heard from a lot of you that you wanted to see some card with unique folds (I love to hear your suggestions). I thought I would make a z-fold card for this project. It’s easy and fun! I have a video below that you can watch for all the instructions. Check it out!

Hi everyone! I hope your week is treating you well. I have spent the last couple of days catching up at home. I begin working the night shift tonight….so I need all my ducks in a row before my schedule gets turned upside down!

Coffee Cup Gift Card Holder

Are you having a fabulous week? I am. I worked Monday through Wednesday, so now I have a few days off! I'm so excited. I've been relaxing today and doing a few things around the house while the kids are at school.

I love the Cricut Lite Love You A Latte cartridge (maybe because I love coffee so much). When I was looking at the images, I got inspired to make a gift card holder using the to go cup cut. It's really a very simple project and you could apply the same technique to many different shapes to make the perfect gift card holder for any occasion.

Wise Guy Card-My Pink Designer August Project

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous day! I’ve been really busy lately. I started my new job a couple of weeks ago. I love it. And I’m so grateful!

Today’s card is for the My Pink Stamper Design Team showcase for the month of August. I used the School Days stamp set from My Pink Stamper. I wanted to show how versatile this set really is. It is a great set for teacher appreciation, back to school goodies, school layouts…but there are also some stamps on there that can be used in a lot of different ways.

To create the cloud background paper, I used my Imagine to print and cut a 5.3 inch square that I flood filled with a pattern from the Hopscotch patterns cartridge. I like to do this and fill the page with four of the squares. These are perfect to cut down for cards…and since the scale is a little smaller, they are perfect for cards.

World's Best Teacher Card Featuring My Pink Stampers School Days

Hi everyone! Are you having a wonderful day? I am enjoying a day off. The house is so quiet. My kids are in school….and so is my hubby (he’s a teacher). I have the whole house to myself. It's nice to have a really quiet day at home every once in a while.

This project is a card that I created using the My Pink Stamper’s School Days stamp set. It is one of her newest stamp sets. I think she did an amazing job with this stamp set. It’s really very versatile!

My Pink Stamper posted this project on her blog as one of the samples for her new stamp sets (you can see that post here). I also used this stamp set to make the "Birthday Goodies" gift bag that is just below this card of that My Pink Stamper post. I told you this set is really versatile!

I had a reader ask me to post the details of this card so she could recreate it herself.

Nesting Blossoms Felt Flower Tutorial

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful day. It's bright and early here...or should I say dark and early? I'm all dressed and ready for my first day on the job.

Today's tutorial is a how to on the felt flowers I created for Lifestyle Crafts nesting release. They got requests for a "how to"...and the rest is history.

I used the Nesting Blossoms from the Lifestyle Crafts nesting release to create these fun flowers.

While these felt flowers may look difficult, they are actually rather easy. I give you a couple of options for assembly, but I used a stapler. I know...a stapler. But that should illustrate to you exactly how easy these are! If you can use a stapler, you can make these flowers.

In the video, I didn't attach anything to the back of my flower. The possibilities, however, are endless. You can use these as a magnet, hair clips, decor for boxes, gift bags...you get it.

When I saw this stamp set, I just knew I had to use the ledger paper from the Imagine More Cards Cricut Imagine cartridge. I used the print paper feature to print the pattern on white textured card stock. I love to use textured card stock with my Imagine. I think it makes the patterns look so much richer! I punched the edge with an edge punch from EK Success to make the paper really look like notebook paper.

To add a little bit of interest to the notebook paper, I used the “school days, school days…” sentiment from the My Pink Stamper School Days stamp set. I masked the left edge and stamped it over and over again to fill a few lines here and there. It was really easy since the My Pink Stamper stamps are clear and I could see exactly where I was stamping. I created a tag and stamped “You’re the apple of my eye” sentiment, also from the School Days stamp set and added it to the layout.

Hi everyone! I hope you are having a great week! Are you ready for another project featuring My Pink Stamper stamps? I’ve been having a blast creating projects with the stamps from My Pink Stamper's latest release. Today’s card features the “Yummy-licious” stamp from none other than the “Yummy-licious” stamp set. I used my Cricut Imagine to create this project, but I’ll refer you to another cartridge below that has a very similar cut.

This card measures 3.5 x 5.5. It makes for a fun shape…and something that’s a little bit smaller. These size cards are perfect for my kids to give to their friends…they usually don’t have too much to write besides “Happy Birthday” and sign their name.

I used the Yummy Cricut Imagine cartridge for my main image. However, I noticed a very similar ice cream on the Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge as well (see page 68). The ice cream and the layers are cut at 4.25 inches. I didn’t change any of the colors on the image…just cut it once with the layers combined and once with the layers separated. This gives me a base to adhere everything to.

To add some fun details to my ice cream dish, I covered it with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. This really gives it the feeling of real glass and makes it come to life. I covered the cherry with Crystal Effects to make it shine too.

The patterned papers are also from the Yummy Cricut Imagine Cartridge. I used patterns on pages 40, 42 and 43 to flood fill the various background shapes on the card. The label shapes are from the Just Because Cards Cricut cartridge (page 60, Radish-s). I cut the pink one at 5 inches and the brown one at 5.5 inches.

Finally, I finished off the card by stamping the “Yummy-licious” sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Yummy-licious stamp set. Isn’t that sentiment perfect for this card?

I {Heart} You Card Featuring My Pink Stampers Font-abulous

Hi everyone! Are you having a FABULOUS week? Or should I say FONT-ABULOUS week?

Today’s card features the new My Pink Stamper Font-abulous stamp set. The possibilities with this set are endless! You can personalize anything!

I thought it would be fun…and I’ve seen this type of thing done on artwork and such…to create a card with the entire alphabet…and emphasize the I and U by using different ink colors. I also replaced the O with a heart…making this fun little I {HEART} YOU card!

Once the stamps are arranged on your block…you can stamp it over and over…making this card easy to mass-produce. Can you see using this card at Valentine’s Day? I arranged all of the letters on one big block…leaving out the ‘I’, ‘O’ and ‘U’. I went back and stamped the ‘I’ and ‘U’ with pink ink.
