Celebrate - Airbrushed Acetate - Neat & Tangled Birthday Blog Hop

Hello everyone!  Welcome back!  I have a fun card project for you today, featuring some new stamps and dies from Neat & Tangled.  Today is the start of a week long celebration in honor of their 4th birthday!  There will be new projects every day this week, and PRIZES!

I am using the new Celebrate stamp and coordinating die set, along with the new Lucky Stars die set, from Neat & Tangled for today's card.  These products coordinate perfectly.  I love how you can use the Celebrate stamp set by itself, or with the coordinating die (or vice versa).  This allows some real flexibility and helps you get even more use of your supplies.  In fact, I'll show you how I used the intricate word die to create a foam backer for my embossed sentiment to give it dimension.

I used the Lucky Stars die set to create a star background all over the front of my card base.

I used my Copic Airbrush system to add some color to a piece of acetate.  This technique was inspired by a lesson I saw in the Online Card Classes Clear & Sheer class.  I used a few different Copic markers to create an ombre effect on the acetate.  This technique would be REALLY cool for a shaker card.  I may just have to try that really soon.

I'll walk you through the creation of this card in the video tutorial below.  And I'll show you an option for adding pattern behind your vellum backer to hide your written message inside.  I think I  may prefer it without the pattern behind it.  I think it's actually kind of cool to see through the card.  It's just another fun variation on the same card.

As I mentioned before, this post is a part of a blog hop that will be happening all week long.  Neat & Tangled will be giving away 1 $100 gift certificate and 2 $50 gift certificates to the Neat & Tangled shop.  To enter, leave a comment on this blog post, and at every stop along the hop all week long.  Each day you can start and the Neat & Tangled blogand then hop along from there.

Your next stop is the ever so talented Kathy Racoosin.  I'm sure she has something fabulous for you!  Hop on over there NOW!
